At the Mary Moore Institute, we believe that fostering humanity, our shared, inherent, ability to think, feel, act and react in ways that are consistent with humankind at its best, to be the single most important thing we can do. It's how we infuse our lives with meaning, find fulfillment, and enrich not just our own souls but those of others. It's how we leave the world itself better than we found it.  

But doing so doesn't come easily. It takes effort. And a lifetime of practice. But if we can master it, becoming people for whom humanitarian action is our first instinct, we not only elevate our lives but everyone we encounter. "I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be," declared Dr. King. "And you can never be what you ought to be until I am what I ought to be." He was right on both accounts.
