MMI Fulcrum Fund
The Fund's mission is to help combat the nation's growing access gap by making strategic investments in social justice organizations operating in the trenches and most in need of financial support, and by helping people in poverty forge alternate advancement pathways (AAPs) - workarounds for a society structured to oppose, impede and impair them. Key initiatives include:

Extra-Academic Scholarships - Even when students from low-income backgrounds receive full scholarships, they lack money for personal needs (laundry, supplies, haircuts, etc.) and for participation in campus life (sporting events, late-night pizza, going on dates, etc.). This increases social isolation and leads to higher college attrition rates.   

Impact Investing - Financial support for companies committed to doing business in ways that make society better. Strategic investments include: iPeerion, HomeWorks and diversity micro-venture support.

Local Community Service Organizations - Financial support for community nonprofits committed to combating poverty and improving the lives of disadvantaged minorities. Partners include: Real Change News (Seattle), Food Lifeline (Seattle), SquareOne Villages (Eugene), Harlem United (NYC), New Avenues for Youth (Portland), and Magic City Acceptance Center (Birmingham).

Social Justice Media - Support for organizations that use media to promote diversity and democracy. Partners include: Wikipedia, GLAAD (LGBTQ media advocacy), and FAIR (Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting).

Crisis and Disaster Victim Aid - Including: Hurricane Maria, Puerto Rico (2017), Indonesia tsunami (2018), California and Oregon wildfires (2020), Haiti earthquake (2021), and COVID 19 relief (2020 - present).

Societal Reform Support - Partners include: Color of Change, Faith In Action, Repair Association, MPower, Human Rights Campaign, Brennan Center For Social Justice, Economic Policy Institute, Run For Something, and Fight For The Future.
