We. Are. InAlienable.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed..." -- The Declaration of Independence of the United States of America, July 4, 1776

Freedom Riders arrested in Jackson, MI, 1961. The fight was about so much more than where they could sit on buses. It was about where they could work, what positions they could compete for, what neighborhoods they could live in, how much schooling they could get and who they could love. They rightly understood that every facet of American life was controlled by segregation.

InAlienable is a grassroots, member-led, activism and advocacy network committed to driving change through redemptive resistance -- the same approach that made the Civil Rights movement so effective.

Those taking up the work aren't politicians or nonprofit professionals. They're regular people who simply feel compelled to do something, to stand both against oppression and with anyone whose fundamental human rights are in danger of being violated. They're on the ground and at the front lines, developing solutions generated by the affected communities themselves.

The "self-evident truths" espoused in the United States' Declaration of Independence don't just apply to American citizens.

Nor to a certain ethnic or religious group, gender or sexuality, age or appearance, economic status or ability. Those "unalienable rights," including -- but not limited to -- "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" belong to all of us. By standing with everyone whose inalienable rights are are threatened, we secure these rights for all of us. 
2020 Protests: Members marched, organized activist aid, formed Portland's Wall of Clergy, provided training, and participated in the creation of the Tipping Point documentary.
Identity Dignity: Supporting people living in states where gender-affirming care has been made illegal.
Sanctuary: Faith communities providing safe haven to undocumented immigrants in danger of being detained, imprisoned or exiled.
Corporate Collaborators: Boycotts, petitioning and social media campaigns that hold organizations that are cooperating with our government's violation of immigrants' inalienable rights or abandoning their recently commitments to equity, diversity and inclusion.
Stonewall: Organized resistance to the federal government's removal of the Pride flag from the monument site.
